AFOT is a portable indoor or outdoor trainer for training of artillery Forward Observers in infantry units.
It is designed for interactive training in target detection, fire requests, fire organization and fire direction activities based on STANAG. It enables simulation of real combat conditions for effective training of tactics, techniques, and procedures.
During firing missions, communication is crucial between the FO and FDC. The AFOT trains Forward Observers to become faster and more precise in mission execution.
FO training device
The AFOT is a compact instrument intended for use in general field observation and fire direction, that can be handheld or mounted on a tripod. With the device, the FO can observe a 360° real-time synthetic environment. AFOT trains up to three soldiers per session on the company level with possible scalability up to the FSE battalion level with JFO for naval and air support.
